The expectation of restoration

I have seen so many Christians paralyzed by a kind of false spirituality that allows a person to believe that they are “so close” to God because they pray, read the word, go to church etc all while persisting in habitual sinful behaviors. They maintain that thay are waiting on God to do something. Until then… it’s God’s problem not theirs. If He wants them different, he will make them different. They will say things like God knows their heart or that He understands their situation…. all “christianese” for “big fat excuse”. Continue reading

Aligning with the biblical context of family

Our families don’t revolve around work. Our families don’t revolve around church. Our families revolve around Christ. In that context, those mini-churches (families) come together as a corporate expression (local church) of what is already being birthed and worked out in our families. We work in the marketplace to bring the centrality of Christ and His proven principles of success for the betterment of the organization and community. Principles of submission to Christ and His word, submission to one another, deference to gifting, respect and delegation of authority and a commitment to the purposes of a greater whole should be readily seen in every Christian family and then corporately in the church.
